Bio

Elizabeth (Liz) Richerson is a senior research scholar at LAS. She divides her time between research program management and Summer Conference on Applied Data Science responsibilities. Liz earned her MS in computational linguistics from Georgetown University, and bachelor’s degree in German and linguistics from the University of Michigan. Her areas of expertise include language technology evaluation and multi-cultural identity matching. Prior to joining LAS, Liz managed a Data Science and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) team at a financial firm in a department that develops chatbots and virtual assistants. Before that, Liz worked at a federally funded research and development center where her primary focus areas were assessing language technology and analysis systems, and applying research and technology to enhance existing processes.
