Lori Wachter

Bio

In the Spring of 2020, Lori came on board at NC State with unstoppable energy and infectious enthusiasm to help modernize the intelligence community through cutting-edge research. She is leading the teams on machine learning, data triage, and cyber that are undertaking a wide range of research efforts on recommendation, multimodal modeling, and analyst experience with AI. Prior to joining the NC State team, Lori took a brief “sabbatical” in industry as the director of data science to build a team looking to combine machine learning with the rigor of statistical methods to discover bold new insights for company growth in retail. This all built off a long and strong career in the intelligence community using her passion for engineering, network communications, and operations to apply the most promising new technologies to critical challenges in global security.
