“Leveraging Plagiarism Software for Large Scale Text Analysis”

Sep 6, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Jody Coward

Abstract –  Text analysis typically occurs using keywords, word clouds, usage frequency analysis, etc. Can a larger examination of writing styles be evaluated to determine the presence of a same author, same context, same message, etc?  Can plagiarism software be used as part of a text analysis effort to determine what similarity, even similarly authored text, could be revealed in larger volumes of text data?
