The Symposium is ON. Main roads in Raleigh are mostly clear, and temperatures will stay above freezing for most of Tuesday.

Please join us for the LAS Research Symposium on December 12, 2018 from 8:00am – 5:00pm at the James B. Hunt Library on the Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, NC. LAS brings together forward-looking academics, and established industry, small business, and start-up partners to collaborate hand-in-hand with the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense mission partners, analysts, and researchers. Together, these teams envision, research, and create common analytic tools, techniques, tradecraft, and methodologies that further the art and science of analysis. This event will showcase LAS’s collaborative initiatives in data analytics, analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches to mission challenges.

This Symposium is open to government employees, academics, and industry partners with an interest in learning more about the Lab’s work in Sensemaking, Analytics, and Structured Analytic Tradecraft.  The agenda includes briefings, panels, and presentations that highlight LAS’s 2018 research results and our 2019 research areas.  A no-host social will be held nearby at the State View Hotel Bar and Lounge beginning at 5:00 p.m.  For questions, please contact Jamie Roseborough, at

Connect With Us

LAS aims to bring together a multi-disciplinary group of academic, industry, and government researchers, analysts and managers together to re-engineer the intelligence analysis process to promote predictive analysis. LAS will do this by conducting both classified and unclassified research in a variety of areas of research. The research done in this area will serve as the foundation for mission effects and integrated back into the enterprise.
